AFRICANS vs The Western World Culture

or… a lesson in fiber and transit time.

As far as constipation in the book Dietary Fiber they say: The humble beginning of a remarkable insight into the role of fiber in your health took place in African villages. There British doctors observed a phenomenon almost unknown to urban, wealthier and more sophisticated residents of "developed" countries. These villages were effortlessly passing two or three large, soft bowel movements every day - at a time when Western physicians thought it normal to pass two or three small, hard bowel movements per week.

There was another attention - getter. the transit time for these Africans was often as little as 24 hours. Britons were known to process their food for from three days to as long as two weeks.

The food intake of the Africans consisted mostly of beans, bananas, corn and potatoes, all rich in vegetable fiber; there was very little of the meat, white flour and sugar beloved of the British.

It was also noted that they rarely suffered from many diseases common among Westerners, further investigation showed that this was also true of populations in other undeveloped, or non-western countries. There are more than 40 such diseases, including diabetes, high blood pressure, colon disease, heart disease, obesity, appendicitis, varicose veins and kidney stones.

In the book "A Women's Body and Natural Progesterone" they include menopause, PMS, migraines, infertility, miscarriages and many other women's problems related to fiber and progesterone. In my newsletter, I quoted from "The Women's Health Series I" about the need "to clean the gut" as the first line of offense and defense against infertility.

Every book about women suggests that eating meat and chicken which is not hormone free is a huge enemy as is caffeine and processed food. Eating herbs and fiber that cleanse the colon allow the body to excrete the estrogen build up in the colon.

So my question is do your bathroom experiences line up with the Western world or the Africans?  Many people believe they are regular until they read what regular really is. Our family is "regular".  Hope you are or will be soon too.
