Here is a smoothie, fruit shake, morning pickup; whatever YOU want to call it but it is definitely delicious and nutritious.

For each person place in the blender:

1 banana – potassium and calcium

1 TB black strap molasses or at least regular molasses – iron, potassium, magnesium

1 TB flaxseed oil – EFAs

2 TB almonds or almond meal (already ground up almonds) – calcium, magnesium, protein

1 heaping tsp nutritional yeast – B-vitamins

¼ cup blueberries – cancer fighting, anti-aging, aids urinary tract

¼ cup strawberries or raspberries – vitamin c, fiber, cancer fighting

1 – 1” slice of fresh pineapple – bromelain an powerful enzyme and loaded with antioxidants

1 cup rice milk, soy milk or water

You can add ¼ cup of tofu and 1 cup of water if you want to make it creamier without changing the taste.

Choose what ever nutritious fruits you would like to substitute.   One of our readers loves to put mango in hers and another uses this as a way to add the fiber supplement.  We also put flaxseed in as well as the oil often for extra nutrition and fiber but really it is not needed for the fiber as there is plenty in this shake.

Blend it up and drink.  YUMMMMMY!

You may also use frozen fruits but do not use canned.  This is not an option.  Try different combinations but keep the other ingredients consistent to be sure you are getting that maximum nutrition boost in the morning.

Another idea is to put everything in the blender the night before; pull it out in the morning and voila; no excuses.  Be sure to use a sturdy blender or at least put the liquid in the bottom.

Our family tries to drinks these at least 4-7 days per week after our Sea Silver® and Barleygreen® or as a late morning snack
