What is salivary ferning?
When a woman enters her fertile phase, higher
estrogen levels cause mucous membranes to produce more salt. Just
prior to ovulation, this increase in salt causes saliva to crystallize
into recognizable frost-like ferns when dried and viewed through The
Fertility TrackerTM.
